Yithro was Moshe’s (Moses) father -in-law. He met Moshe in the dessert and gave advice on how to deal with judgment issues. He advised him to choose G-d fearing men that would administer justice. G-d told Moses that if the Jewish people obey me and keep the commandments they will be “my special chosen nation”. When Moses informed the Jewish people of this they all responded that as G-d spoke so shall we do! The story of the giving of the Torah is discussed at (Mount Sinai). Why was it so important that Moshe tell the Jews to stay away from the barriers? He told them not to come close and if so they will perish. The value of life is very important to the Jewish people. Every soul is near and dear to G-d. How do we become close to G-d? Read into the Ten Commandments and think about what G-d wants from us. If you do things that are not good most feel embarrassed and ashamed. Your capabilities and accomplishments are dependent upon ones self esteem. How is the physical world connected to spirituality? We should all look upon the fact that Mohe was willing to listen and heed advice from his father-in-law as a good thing. Many times someone may give you a piece of advice and you may laugh at it. It can be considered quite silly. It’s important that you understand that people can have great ideas and should be given the opportunity to be listened to by their peers.
